At LFC, we believe in the power of community and the potential of individuals. Our team is made up of passionate individuals who are dedicated to providing low-cost computers and computer literacy classes to local low-income families. We also offer opportunities for volunteers to learn and explore technology through their service to the community.

Administration

Gabriela López Chávez
Executive Director
Raised in South County and a long-term Monterey County resident, Gabriela has 20 years of experience in the non-profit sector. Most recently, Gabriela served as Director for the Taylor Farms Center for Learning with the First Tee - Monterey County. She is a graduate of CSUMB and San Jose State University. She believes in the importance of digital inclusion for all and is committed to serving the tri-county community. Gabriela is a first generation graduate of CSU Monterey Bay and San Jose State University.

Evens Lanot
Project Development Manager
Evens is an experienced analyst with a demonstrated history of working in managerial level positions. Skilled in Data and Network Analysis, Nonprofit Organizations Management, and Fundraising. He has a strong ability to work under pressure and fast paced environment. A passion for computer enabled financial crimes, sanctions and cybersecurity.

Wil Collier
Project Specialist, Refurb Operations
Wil is a skilled project specialist and refurbisher who has been working at LFC for two years. With his expertise in managing and executing projects, Wil has helped LFC achieve several milestones and grow their technology infrastructure. When he is not at work, Wil likes to spend his time outdoors, exploring new hiking trails and capturing moments on his film camera. With his passion for technology and love for the outdoors, Wil is a well-rounded individual who brings a unique perspective to everything he does.

Kendra Bage
Project Specialist, Operations
Kendra began working with Non-profit organizations in her Junior year of high school. She worked as a Golf and Life Skills Coach at the First Tee of Monterey County for four years. Kendra graduated with a BS in Entrepreneurship from CSUMB in December 2019 and opened her own business in her last semester. Kendra brings her business knowledge and experience to support LFC’s operations.

Kailah Combs
Assistant to the Director
Kailah was raised in Monterey County her whole life. LFC is important to Kailah who grew up lower-middle class and knows the struggle of not having access to a computer or internet. She began at LFC through a Partnership for volunteers in 2021, since, she has become a dedicated staff member for a little over a year. Although Kailah is an artist at heart, her passion is helping others receive the help they need to better their lives.

Refurbishment

Justo Munoz
Refurb Manager
Junior is one of LFC’s longest-serving and most dedicated member. Since 2012, he serves as trainer and mentor for new volunteers in LFC’s computer hardware refurbishing area. Junior’s hard work and dedication, along with his bilingual capabilities, make him an important part of LFC’s team.

Estefan Gonzalez
Technician
Estefan is a jack of all trades who has served LFC since 2016 with his wide range of technology skills, with special emphasis on Linux administration. He manages network connectivity and security, alongside the in-house servers. When he isn’t active in this role, he covers the position of refurbisher and furthers LFC’s refurbishing mission. Additionally, he helps with repairs and is part of the team that manages the eBay account.

Alberto Garcia
Technician
Alberto is a skilled technician at LFC who works in the digital literacy and refurb departments. He loves to repair seniors’ devices and refurbish computers for reuse. In his spare time, he enjoys outdoor activities such as mountain biking and backpacking. Alberto is passionate about learning new things, doing his job well, and helping people with their digital needs.

Jacqueline Leon
Digital Fluency Coordinator
Jacqueline was born and raised here in Monterey County. She has always had a passion for helping and giving back to her community. Jacqueline is an experienced photographer, video and editor and TV/News media producer. She is ready to contribute and become a successful core member to LFC.

Cristina Martinez
Instructor
Cristina grew up and currently resides in beautiful Monterey County. She studied various fields in college and eventually earned her bachelors in Computer Science. In LFC, she is able to work with her true passions: technology and teaching.
On her days off, she enjoys going on long walks with her dog Amy, spending time with family and friends, listening to a wide range of music genres, hiking, and traveling.

Sandra Flores Silverio
Instructor
Sandra currently lives in Monterey County. She studied and graduated from Hartnell college and CSUMB with a bachelor of science in computer science. She came to LFC as a volunteer in 2022 and started working as a Digital literacy instructor shortly after.

Cynthia Martinez
Instructor
Cynthia grew up in Monterey County, and is a first-generation college graduate from California State University, Monterey Bay with a Bachelors in Computer Science & Information Technology. Cynthia enjoys working with anything in technology and computing, especially teaching and helping others learn new things about technology, which she is now doing as a Digital Literacy Instructor at Loaves, Fishes, & Computers.
